The Long Island Alumnae Chapter and the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Adelphi gathered together for this year's Founders' Day celebration at Jonathan's Restaurant on November 16, 2009. There were 81 Tri Delta members in attendance, the highest turnout ever. Alumnae members came from seven different collegiate chapters in addition to Adelphi.
As members arrived and began mingling with each other, they bought tickets for the annual raffles. Members were able to also purchase Tri Delta themed items from Delta Shop. As always Delta Shop proved to be a great success and all sisters were extremely happy with their new Delta gear. After some socializing, the evening began with a welcome to the Founders' Day celebration. Erica Passarella, Alumnae Chapter President, then read the annual Founders' Day Proclamation, and we sang Tri Delta Grace. There was much laughter and conversation shared over the delicious dinner where new friendships were made and old friends reunited.

Throughout the evening speeches were made by Collegiate Chapter President Katie O'Neill, Alumnae Chapter President Erica Passarella, Alumnae Philanthropy Chair Tracey Cohen, and Alumnae VP Finance Lindsey Draves.
Alumnae Advisor Joanne Catanese presented the winners of the Elaine Blain Rudolph Scholar Award and New Member Scholar Award, sponsored annually by LIAC. The Elaine Blain Rudolph Scholar Award is given each year to a senior who has the highest overall GPA average combined from her freshman, sophomore, and junior years. The New Member Scholar Award is given to a new member from the Formal Recruitment class who has obtained the highest GPA. Congratulations to the 2009 winners:

Following the presentations, we held the Founders' Day Candle Lighting Ceremony and read the Chapter Roll Call. Since there where so many alumnae in attendance from different chapters, the entire list of chapters was read just as it is done at Tri Delta Convention. Sisters gathered together to sing Alpha Theta Phi and to join in a candle lighting ceremony where sisters shared their news of pinnings, engagements, marriages, and pregnancies.
The evening's festivities closed with the much-anticipated annual raffles, and many sisters walked away with great prizes. A huge thank you goes out to those sisters and businesses who generously donated wonderful items to make the raffle a great success.
Many new records were broken at this year's Founders' Day celebration. There were 81 Tri Delta members in attendance, the highest turnout ever. Alumnae members came from seven different collegiate chapters in addition to Adelphi. Our annual raffle continues to grow a little each year, but the largest increase by far took place this year when we raised more than $450. Delta Shop sales totaled $1,600, the most collected since we started offering items for purchase.
